The Lancashire side have reportedly told goalkeeper Tom Heaton that he will be allowed to leave if their newly promoted Aston Villa make an improved offer for the stopper, while Joe Hart is also set to depart Turf Moor in the current transfer window.That would leave Nick Pope as the club’s first choice ‘keeper, with the club expected to move for Peacock-Farrell as their new second choice between the posts for Sean Dyche’s side.

Peacock-Farrell, who graduated through Leeds’ youth system, has made a total of 41 appearances in all competitions for the Elland Road side. The 22-year-old Northern Ireland international has just 12 months remaining on his contract with the Yorkshire side, something which could put Leeds under pressure should an offer come in for him.

If Leeds do lose Peacock-Farrell to Burnley, that would leave Kiko Casilla – who usurped the 22-year-old as the club’s number one following his arrival from Real Madrid in January – as the club’s only senipr goalkeeping option.

The Verdict

This will be a big concern for Leeds. With Pontus Jansson having already left the club and rumours around both Kalvin Phillips and Kemar Roofe continuing to circulate, the news of interest in another player who could be key to their plans for next season.

Given the comparative performances of Peacock-Farrel and Casilla for Leeds last season, you would have made a strong case for the young Northern Irishman reclaiming the number one spot between the posts heading into the new campaign, prior to these latest rumours emerging.

It would be hard to begrudge Peacock-Farrell the chance of a move to the Premier League, and the Leeds may know be ruing the fact that he has yet to be tied to a new contract at Elland Road, which could force them sell in order to avoid losing him for nothing this time next year.
