Burnley “keen” on Fabio Carvalho

Welcome back to the Mike Garlick Burnley Football Club blog. Here we bring you the latest news and views from the world of football. Today, we bring you the latest updates Fabio Carvalho transfer and what it means for the club.

Fabio Carvalho is reportedly a target for Burnley this summer, with the Championship winners said to be exploring permanent and loan deals and are open to a permanent option but also to a and loan. The club has set its sights on signing Liverpool star Fabio Carvalho and are clearly keen on signing Liverpool star Fabio Carvalho this summer.

Jurgen Klopp has alluded the 2022 signing from Fulham could go on loan in the 2023-24 season in the next stage of the 20-year-old’s development. Jurgen Klopp revealed in his pre-Southampton press conference that there is a “possibility” the 20-year-old could go out on loan next season and Turf Moor has since emerged as a potential destination.

Kompany claimed that “no player has impressed” him more than Carvalho this season, praising his “work ethic” and attitude in training.

Vincent Kompany’s side could look to capitalise on Carvalho’s situation, who has played just eight minutes of Premier League football since the turn of the year. The Clarets are in the market for an attacking midfielder capable of playing in several different roles.

Football Insider have reported that the Clarets are “keen” on signing the youngster this summer and are “open to both permanent and loan options” in the transfer window. The Portugal Under-21 international, who signed a five-year deal with the Merseysiders last summer (2022), has made 22 appearances across all competitions – scoring three goals. Carvalho would suit and a position not typically associated with Klopp sides.

Carvalho joined the Reds from the previous Championship winners Fulham for £7.7 million last summer and he got his Liverpool career off to a positive start by registering 16 appearances in all competitions prior to the World Cup. His involvement has diminished, leading to suggestions that a loan move could benefit all parties in 2023/24. Commenting on the move, he said:

“I think there is a possibility that maybe Fabio will go on loan or whatever. We will see,” he told reporters.

The thing is, this was not Carvalho best year of his playing history , with very young career, but it might have been his most important, in the transfer window. He continued:

“No player has impressed me more than Fabio, that’s the truth.”

His short-term future remains to be seen, but the manager clearly values Carvalho’s determination in training despite spending the majority of the campaign on the periphery. Vincent Kompany has done great work since taking over as Burnley manager, and he looks like someone who could be ideal to aid Carvalho’s development.

Carvalho will be keen to spend more time on the pitch after the summer break, be that at Anfield or further afield. He notched 11 goals and eight assists across 38 appearances for the then-Championship side in the 2021-22 campaign – his breakthrough season in senior football.
